Jarmo Kuuttila appointed Ambassador to Bogota
On Friday, 21 February, the President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Jarmo Kuuttila to serve as Head of the Mission in Bogotá from 1 September 2017.
Jarmo Kuuttila will transfer to Bogotá, Colombia, from Yangon, where he has served as Head of the Liaison Office of Finland since 2013. He has also served in the Embassies of Finland in Washington, Abu Dhabi and Maputo. In the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Kuuttila has worked in the Department for the Americas and Asia and in the Department for Development Policy. He joined the Foreign Ministry in 1991.
The Liaison Office in Bogotá will be upgraded to an Embassy from the beginning of September and the authorisation of Ambassador Mika Koskinen, Head of Finland’s Mission in Lima, to represent Finland in Colombia will be cancelled on the same date.
At the beginning of September, Finland will open a Consulate in Sao Paolo to serve under the administration of the Embassy of Finland in Brazil. The President of the Republic appointed First Secretary Tommi Vuorinen to head the Consulate.
